NAME: Rachel Posner
CANON: House of Cards
AGE: 25
CANON POINT: s3 finale
HISTORY: Rachel's wiki, house of cards on wikipedia
PERSONALITY: Rachel Posner seems like a pretty simple girl, and that's exactly how she likes it. A former prostitute, the real Rachel is quiet but friendly at first glance, and that's largely true at her core. Despite the fact that she'd love to stay in her lane and purposely makes herself pretty unassuming, she's actually quite friendly -- she's just not that much of an extrovert when left to her own devices. Rachel is a caring individual, usually going that extra mile for people who need it without hesitation: when Lisa came to her house because her roommate was doing meth, Rachel immediately gave her her keys. She helps out at her church daycare, she helped a spanish speaking immigrant with their English paperwork: she's got a big heart, even if she tries her best to keep to herself. She's a good negotiator, an incredible listener, and is incredibly easy to talk to.
While she is private, she does crave a sense of belonging -- she found that in both Lisa and Lisa's Fellowship church, where she was both included and valued. She's confident in what she wants and her needs, and is intuitive enough with herself to know exactly what that is. Because of how in tune with herself she is, Rachel is very stubborn and often refuses to give up. This trait, combined with how good of a listener and how good of a negotiator she is, was the sole reason why she lasted as long as she did before Stamper ended her life.
The shadow of Doug Stamper is constantly looming over her never quite goes away. Her quick thinking and ability to act under pressure is what got her out of his reach in season two, going so far as to beat him unconscious before stealing his car and fleeing.
-talk about her slight paranoia, etc, everything doug has done to mentally and emotionally damage her
Interior - EXTREMELY careful about what information she gives other people, protective of who she loves, guarded, hella clever even though she wants people to think she's a pushover, can read most people incredibly well and figure out what they want
talk about prostitution -
misc - most likely does not trust authority figures, def not politicians, can lay on charisma/smooth talk her way into bed with anyone due to her former call-girl ness, easily switches roles and who she is depending on what people want (tries not to at all since it's given her trouble), desperately just wants to be left in peace and quiet and not be bothered (absolutely won't happen in this game), would love to just listen to sad country music and watch the rain all day
